This past weekend Cane’s team played in the KYA Pee Wee Football Superbowl.  Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would be watching my son play football in the same stadium I was cheering in 10 years earlier.

It's funny how life comes back around on you, huh?

Fires in Wyoming

You have probably been hearing about the forest fires lately in multiple states and obviously the large one in Coloardo Springs. We have a good size one about 50 miles from our house and 15 miles from my Main office I work at. This fire has been burning for about a week and has spread to about 30,000 Acres so far.

For the last 4 nights every time I come home our roof and deck has a layer of ash on it. The air is clogged with smoke and in some areas you can only see 1-2 miles because the smoke is so thick.

Take a look at the map below for reference. Also the area that is burning is a national forest thick with trees. It will not cross over all of that grassy plains to where we live. So don't worry Mom.

Silly Pictures and other stuff

Sorry it has been a while since our last update. I will start with the above goofy pictures. I was bored over Memorial Day weekend and went hiking at Half Moon Lake which is 5 minutes from our house. It took me about an hour to hike up to the top of that hill where these pictures are shot from. Great workout, especially at this altitude.

We had our baby shower last weekend and it was wonderful. Thank you to everyone who attended and a special thanks to Aunt Cari and Uncle Newbie for hosting it at their house in Keller.

We also told everyone the name of the baby at the shower. Her name is Emersyn Macklee Zamora.

Kerry only has 1 month left until the baby is due and she is very ready :)

I am living in Wyoming now and currently on the first part of a 2 month stretch away from my family. I will be back in DFW on June 1st and then back up here until the beginning of July.

Here are a few views from our new house. The 1st one is a shot of a few deer about 50 yards away from our back deck behind our inner backyard fence.

The second one is the amazing sunrise that happens every morning over the Wind River Mountain Range. The picture really doesnt do it justice and mainly because it was taken with my phone.

Pony Express

I am not sure what the previous owners did for mail but maybe they still run the pony express out here. So we had to install our mailbox in order to get mail near the house. It is still 2 miles away on the nearest "paved" road. Yes that mailbox is completely centered, all the other mailboxes are crooked!

Well today was the big day. We closed on our country dream house and we are now officially Wyomingites! The movers are coming tomorrow to deliver everything and the mailbox should be in the ground by Friday. (Yeah, this house never had a mailbox)

I have to thank my wonderful wife because without her we wouldn't have been able to get this house. Even at 6 months pregnant she was keeeping everything on track with the selling of our house and purchasing of the new one, working a full time job, being a full time mom, and still cooking dinner for me! Whew....

Here is to new beginnings and a change of life.
